Self taught in design to this point, I have started a Master's Degree in Fine Art program at the Art Academy University in San Fransico.

I have been greatly influenced over the years by the women in my life, such as my mother, aunts, grandmother, and teachers. My aunt, Mary Katherine Smith, was a fashion illustrator in the 1940's for department stores in Atlanta.  I am priviledged to have copies of some of her work in my collection.  She is an inspiration for my work in both illustration and design.

My grandfather, master craftsman, William H. Lashley has also influenced my work in many ways as well as my entrepreneurial spirit.  I keep some of his sketches in my studio for inspiration.

My life passion is creativity.  I have tried many different types of art from painting to metalwork.  Currently I am working in oil and canvas, screen printing, and wood.

I apprenticed for three years with Asheville surface designer, Jen Swearington, as her studio assistant.  Jen is very talented and is an amazing teacher.

My studio is on Charlotte Street in North Asheville.
